Animal Welfare Charter

Our pledge

We exist because pets enrich human lives. In return, we owe every animal a life free from needless suffering. Petzsea is committed to responsible commerce — we list pets for adoption, not impulse sale, and we only ship livestock under strict welfare protocols.

1. Vendor & breeder standards

• Registered with local animal welfare boards and/or state fisheries departments.
• Maintain minimum housing space, enrichment, and clean-water standards.
• Submit to periodic on-site audits by Petzsea's welfare team.
• Provide parent-health records for dogs, cats, birds, and mammals.

2. Dogs & cats

Petzsea does not sell puppies or kittens commercially. We list animals for adoption from verified NGOs, shelters, and ethical breeders vetted against our standards. Every adoption requires a home-fit questionnaire and a follow-up wellness check.

3. Live fish, shrimp & corals

• Only captive-bred or sustainably-collected species are permitted.
• Shipped in insulated boxes with oxygen-rich bags and heat/cool packs as needed.
• Transit time capped at 24 hours for freshwater, 18 hours for marine species.
• Endangered (CITES Appendix I) species are strictly prohibited.

4. Reptiles, amphibians & exotics

Exotic pets require additional documentation. Sales to minors are banned, and species that are invasive or illegal under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 are removed on discovery.

5. Community reporting

We listen closely. If you suspect welfare issues, email welfare@petzsea.com with details. Reports are triaged within 24 hours and repeat offenders are permanently banned.
