How we design for everyone
Visual access
- AA contrast ratios across light & dark themes
- Resizable text up to 200% without breaking layouts
- Descriptive alt text on every product image
- Focus outlines on every interactive element
Keyboard navigation
- Tab-traversable layouts with logical focus order
- Skip-to-content links on every page
- Escape dismisses dialogs and popovers
- No keyboard traps — confirmed in testing
Screen readers
- Semantic HTML landmarks and ARIA labels
- Live region announcements for cart & coin updates
- Form fields properly labelled and described
- Tested with NVDA, VoiceOver and TalkBack
Motor & cognitive
- Click targets at least 44×44 px
- Simple language, short paragraphs, clear CTAs
- Animations respect prefers-reduced-motion
- Session persistence — no losing your cart mid-flow
Standards we follow
- WCAG 2.1 Level AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, recommended by W3C.
- Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (India) — accessibility obligations for digital services.
- EN 301 549 — European accessibility standard for ICT products and services.
Assistive tech we test with
- Screen readers: NVDA (Windows), VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), TalkBack (Android)
- Zoom: browser zoom 200%, macOS Zoom, Android magnifier
- Colour: Deuteranopia, Protanopia, and Tritanopia emulation
- Voice control: Dragon NaturallySpeaking, iOS Voice Control
Known issues & roadmap
We keep a public accessibility backlog. Current open items include:
- Video tutorials: closed captions being added for all care-guide videos (Q2 2026).
- AI chat: high-contrast mode scheduled for Q2 2026.
- Vendor dashboard: full keyboard support audit in progress.
